Once a dog and a donkey were travelling together. The donkey had a busket of bread on his back. After going a distance they felt hungry. The donkey began to graze by the roadside.
But the dog had nothing to eat. He prayed to the donkey to give him a
piece of bread. But the donkey refused.
A little later a wolf was seen to come towards them. The donkey began to tremble in fear and requested to dog to stand by him. Now the dog refused and said, “Who he eats alone must fight alone.”
Saying this the dog went away. At once the wolf jumped on the donkey and ate him up tearing into pieces.
